So now we have light rail in Phoenix AND we have late-night extended hours on weekends. Awesome!
But there's a catch ...
Did you know extended hours are only on a TRIAL basis? So we--as car-free or car-lite citizens--need to show that we value the extended hours and are using them by having an event to show our support. That event is called Night Rail. It's being organized by a local transit blogger named Nick Bastian (@raillife on Twitter).
Here's the skinny: people are meeting up at 10 p.m. at Monti's in Tempe (Mill Ave. stop) or Maizie's Cafe in Phoenix (4750 North Central Avenue, just south of Camelback and Central stop). Then we'll take light rail to Roosevelt Ave. station for the midnight gathering.
Here's the official info:

Hope to see you there!

p.s. I will be with the group at Monti's, which is also meeting for dinner as part of a separate event called Light Rail Friday Nights. Learn more here: http://phoenixfriday
